‘Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round’ “Honoka” Shown In New Trailer

The last new character for DOA 5: Last Round has been revealed to be the “Super Secret Fighter Chick” Honoka.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round marks the next-gen debut of the DOA franchise, and is presumably the final major update to 2012’s Dead or Alive 5. The fifth chapter of the DOA series featured a new graphics engine, capable of rendering dirt, dust and sweat on characters in real-time. Some of the many vibrant and highly-detailed stages were given “dynamic” areas, which would trigger an intense cinematic if a character was either knocked-into or sent through a designated area of the stage. Dead or Alive 5 and the current update DOA 5: Ultimate brought in fighters from Sega’s Virtua Fighter series, including Pai Chan, Sarah Bryant, Akira Yuki, and Jacky Bryant; Ultimate also added Ninja Gaiden‘s Momiji and Rachel to the roster.

Earlier today, Koei Tecmo released a new trailer and screenshots of the final new character for DOA 5: Last Round. Dubbed the “Super Secret Fighting Chick”, Honoka is a schoolgirl who practices her own style, “Honoka Fu”. Honoka Fu is based off of the skills and techniques of other fighters, however Honoka’s size prevents her from performing some moves to their full potential. She can also utilize her “Hissatsu-no-Kamae” stance, which grants her extra strength and the ability to  perform “techniques she has never seen from any other fighter”.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 2/17. Several costume packs have been planned for Last Round, but some may not be available for the 360 and PS3 versions. According to the official Dead or Alive Facebook page, the current-gen versions are reaching “hardware capacity”, thus restricting the “limit of the additional downloadable content”.
