EA Currently Working On Several New IP’s

EA claims they are not relying solely on pre-established franchises, as they have up to eight new IP’s currently in-development.

EA receives plenty of criticism from fans; with the yearly sports titles and constant DLC updates for The Sims franchise, some would think that the company relies entirely on releasing new titles for already established series. However, EA dismissed this idea, and has stated that several new games are in the early stages of development. This year’s E3 event revealed trailers for both a new Mirror’s Edge game and the revival of Star Wars: Battlefront, but according to EA Games Chief Patrick Soderlund, the company has “six to eight completely new IPs in the works”, and if EA ever winds up living off of old franchises, it will be the day EA goes “onto life support”.

Currently announced IP’s include Titanfall, the new Mirror’s Edge title from DICE, and Star Wars: Battlefront; though Battlefront isn’t technically a new IP, Soderlund states that EA is treating it as such.
