‘Diablo III’ Auction House To Close In 2014

After listening to player-feedback, Activision Blizzard is deciding to close Diablo III‘s controversial Auction House.

Between the legendary authentication errors and console-exclusivity, Diablo III sits uneasily on the love/hate fence of PC gamers. Activision Blizzard will be making a rather large change to the PC version, with the removal of the Auction House; what was intended as a secure way for players to trade items and earn some extra money, turned into a system that undermined the loot-drop aspect of the game- a core element of the Diablo series. According to Blizzard’s “Battle.net”blog, the official closure of the Auction House will occur next March, in order to give users as much notice as possible.

The Auction House will officially close on March 14, 2014. Diablo III is currently available on PC, 360 and PS3.
