The PC survival adventure game Lone Survivor will receive an updated PS3/Vita port this week.
Jasper Byrne’s Lone Survivor, a “psychological survival adventure” Indie title for PC, will release on the PS3 and Vita this Tuesday, as Lone Survivor: Director’s Cut. This version features touch-support for the Vita, new endings, several new locations, an additional 20 items, and an improved lighting-system. Byrne has been developing Director’s Cut with Sony’s guidance for the past 8 months; while an upgrade for the original PC version has not been announced, Byrne mentioned the possibility of doing so in the future:
“I aim to bring those features which are technically possible to the PC in some form in future. This port has taken me personally 8 months of extra work, far more than I ever suggested would be added to the original version of the game (I had planned to add a joke ending, much like Silent Hill 2′s Dog Ending, and that was it.) It’s more work than goes into most paid DLC, and it is not a simple task to port back to the PC platforms, so I would just ask the fans to please be patient as I am only one person and do need to rest at some points!”
Lone Survivor: Director’s Cut will be available for PS3 and Vita on Sept. 24, and is a Cross Buy and Cross Save title, and will include a discount for all PS+ members.
