Reddit User Hints At ‘GTA Online’ Micro-Transactions

According to Reddit, a user found a file in Rockstar’s servers that may hint at future micro-transactions for GTA Online.

Millions of Grand Theft Auto fans have already purchased and completed GTA V, and are anxiously awaiting the launch of GTA Online. A “Redditor” claims that by trying to access the “Store” from the Pause Screen, a console error activates, requesting a specific file not yet in the game. Upon further research, the Reddit user was able to find the file; the raw XML code contains lines referring to the “Collector’s Edition” extras, along with four “cash cards” that all have descriptions relating to real-world currency:

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting.”

The “Shark Cash Cards” listed within the file have four different in-game monetary values, ranging from $100,000 to $1,250,000.

Grand Theft Auto V is already available for PS3 and 360, and has sold more than $1 billion in physical units.
