Today marks the beginning of BlizzCon 2013, and a full weekend of exciting new updates from Blizzard- starting with their new MOBA, Heroes of the Storm.

BlizzCon 2013 opened this morning with the debut cinematic trailer for Heroes of the Storm, the next MOBA (“multi-player online battle arena”; think “Advanced Tower Defense”) from Blizzard, featuring several iconic characters from the WarCraft, StarCraft and Diablo franchises The title originally began as a custom game within StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty; the game evolved into a stand-alone project as Blizzard All Stars, and was later re-branded as Heroes of the Storm:

A future Beta-test was also revealed today, as interested players can sign up at the official Heroes of the Storm website; all that’s required is a Battle.net (usually referred to as “B-Net”) account.
