Gearbox Announces Homeworld For Steam, Plus New Borderlands 2 DLC

The PAX Australia panel for Gearbox Software just came to a close, but not before letting the audience know that Homeworld will be making a comeback, and that there’s more DLC for Borderlands 2 on the way.

Earlier this year, Gearbox purchased the properties to the classic PC RTS game Homeworld, and during their panel, it was revealed that an updated HD version was in development, with new textures and updated models, and the developer plans on bringing this new Homeworld, along with the original Homeworld 1-2 to Steam. Towards the end of the panel, Gearbox also revealed upcoming DLC for Borderlands 2: Future DLC inlcudes new “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon’s Keep” themed skins, “Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge”, which raises the maximum player level to 72, and adds a new Patricia Tannis-given quest; a new DLC add-on campaign, “T.K. Baha’s Bloody Harvest”, which will be the first of a series of “Headhunter” DLC add-ons, and will act as a callback to “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” from the original Borderlands.

No specific release dates were given for the Homeworld games or Borderlands 2 DLC additional quests, other than the skins will arrive in 2-3 weeks, and the campaign DLC will be arriving “soonish” before Halloween.
