A few weeks ago, it was revealed that an upcoming comic book based on the recent Tomb Raider reboot, will act as a canon sequel, and lead into a new Tomb Raider game; the CEO of Square Enix confirmed this to be true, as a new chapter of the saga will be coming to next-gen consoles.
The comic cook tie-in by Gail Simone and Dark Horse was announced during SDCC, so this announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, but rather extra confirmation. Square Enix CEO, Phil Rogers confirmed in a blog post that a new Tomb Raider is in development, along with other triple-A titles Final Fantasy XV (formerly Versus XIII) and the new Thief reboot. While there’s no projected release date for the Tomb Raider sequel, the comic book is set for Feb. 2014.
