More Borderlands 2 DLC Coming This September

Get ready to tackle Digistruct Peak this September, with the next Borderlands 2 expansion.

Gearbox announced at PAX Australia that even more DLC would make its way into Borderlands 2 later this year. The next expansion releases on Sept. 3, adds a new campaign and increases the level-cap to 72. The ‘Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak’ places seasoned Vault Hunters in the Crimson Raiders training ground of Digistruct Peak; the DLC is designed and balanced specifically for cooperative play, and will have players attempting to reach the Digistruct summit, while dealing with hoards of enemies from the entire Borderlands 2 roster. The new expansion also includes “Overpower” levels that extend beyond the new cap of Level 72: Once players reach Level 72, there are an additional eight Overpower Levels, which will yield Level 80+ enemies and loot; despite players being unable to reach a “true” Level 80 and higher, dropped items from enemies can be used, as long as it corresponds with the player’s Overpower Level.

More DLC will arrive in October just in time for Halloween, with the release of the first of three “Headhunter” DLC expansions; ‘TK Baha’s Blood Harvest’. The basic structure of the upcoming Headhunter Packs involve defeating a boss character, and earning a wearable version of that character’s head. ‘Blood Harvest’ will include a few fetch-quests given by an undead TK Baha, and a boss fight with the Pumpkin Kingpin. Keeping with its Halloween theme, defeated enemies will also drop pieces of candy, which will provide different perks and upgrades for the player, much like the fairies from the ‘Assault on Dragon’s Keep DLC’.

No prices or specific release dates have been set for the Headhunter Packs.
