The hardware developer NVidia has been collaborating with Valve to create the best performance options for SteamOS.
According to Mark Smith’s blog post, NVidia has been collaborating with Valve for SteamOS; NVidia has been working to lower controller input lag, improving driver performance for OpenGL, optimizing graphical performance for NVidia video cards, and helping to port NVidia optimized Steam titles to SteamOS. Smith believes the partnership with Valve “makes sense”; both NVidia and Valve value providing gamers with graphical innovation and a “cutting-edge visual experience”.
SteamOS will be a free downloadable operating system, available in 2014.
