Good news occasionally comes at a price: DICE is diligently trying to fix all versions of Battlefield 4…at the cost of placing all other projects on hold…Yes, all of them.
Whether it’s on a Sony or Microsoft console, or even PC, Battlefield 4 has issues; between the “one-shot kill” bug, map-screen crashes and servers kicking out responsible non-cheating/hacking players, the popular FPS hasn’t been a very enjoyable experience. Since release, a few patches have been administered in attempts to fix several game-breaking problems, but new ones sprouted up after the release of the China Rising DLC expansion [which is currently only available for Premium members]. In a statement issued by EA, the publisher says that DICE has halted all projects currently in-development in order to get Battlefield 4 up to player-satisfaction:
“…We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game–it is absolutely our #1 priority. The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game…But we’re not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4…We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right.”
…By “all projects”, this includes all future DLC for Battlefield 4, the Mirror’s Edge sequel, and even the new Star Wars: Battlefront title.
A patch was released yesterday for the PC version of Battlefield 4; a PS4 update was also planned, but has since been rescheduled due to additional testing. Players who wish to keep up with update-development and releases can track them at the “Battlefield 4 Control Room” within Battlelog.
