‘Fallout 4’ Teaser Site Was An Elaborate Hoax

If it sounds too good to be true, and it doesn’t come straight from the horse’s mouth, then there’s a huge chance that it may be a hoax…as was TheSurvivor2299.com.

TheSurvivor2299 launched a few weeks ago; several cryptic messages containing references to “the vault” and post-apocalyptic survival, along with a countdown-timer, and a supposed registration by Zenimax and Bethesda, led clever fans to believe that this would be a teaser site for a new Fallout game set in Boston, MA- possibly even Fallout 4. While the timer was going to originally end on Dec. 11, this morning Fallout hopefuls weren’t shown anything regarding a new game, but a message that reads “That’s all folks”, depressing violin music, and confirmation that the entire thing was an amazingly elaborate hoax.

Add this one to the ever-growing list of debunked sequels from 2013.
