The Princess of Hyrule will make her third appearance on the battlefield in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title for Wii U and 3DS.
While actual character trailers may be sparse, Nintendo is continuing to announce new and returning additions to the roster for the fourth installment of Super Smash Bros. Earlier today, new screenshots of Princess Zelda were released through the official Smash Bros. website; her appearance is once again modeled after her detailed model from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Currently, only Zelda is confirmed; Sheik was included as a playable alternate/transformation character for Zelda in both Melee and Brawl, but was listed as an “additional” character during the ad campaign for both titles:
With the recent announcement of Princess Zelda, the current roster for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS stands at 20 playable characters, with Sonic and Mega Man being the only 2 third-party entrants. Zelda also follows after the announcement of “newcomers” Rosalina and Luma.
