The PS4 release of Skullgirls is nearly upon fighting game fans, as the game is scheduled to release tomorrow on PSN.
After its humble launch on the PS3 and 360, a successful crowdfunding campaign for Skullgirls sealed the release of a PC port and a slew of DLC characters and stages. While a Linux version is still in development, Lab Zero Games is bringing their hand-drawn Fighter to Sony’s next-gen console with Skullgirls 2nd Encore.
Building off of the content from Skullgirls Encore for PS3, 360 and PC, 2nd Encore will include all of the DLC characters and several new modes for Skullgirls fans to experience. The PS4 release includes the additional “Survival Mode”, and new “Challenges” and “Trials”. For the first time in the title’s release history, the “Story Mode” will include full voice acting for each scene.
The PS Vita release is scheduled to release later this Summer, however Skullgirls 2nd Encore will be a Cross-Buy and Cross-Play title; not only can both platforms compete in cross-platform multiplayer, but those who purchase 2nd Encore on one platform will be given a copy for the other.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will be available through PSN for $24.99. An official release date for the PS Vita version has not been announced. The European version is expected to release two weeks later.
