‘Metroid Prime 2: Echoes’ “Varia Suit” Available For Pre-Order

Pre-orders are now open for First4Figures’s rendition of Samus Aran’s iconic Varia Suit.

30 years ago, a heroic bounty hunter defeated an army of Space Pirates and vampiric aliens during her lone mission on planet Zebes. More than 10 games later, Samus Aran still remains as one of gaming’s most iconic characters, and one of gaming’s most capable female warriors.

Earlier today, First4Figures began taking pre-orders for their new statue of Samus Aran, clad in her famous Varia Suit. First seen in her debut title Metroid for the NES, the Varia Suit is forged from alien Chozo technology, allowing Samus to channel and blast energy from her right arm, and fold herself into an impossibly compact ball. While the base armor protects Samus from many intergalactic hazards, the Varia Suit has seen upgrades over the past 3 decades, including the likes of the Gravity, Fusion and Light Suit variations. Presented in 1/4th scale, the new “Varia Suit” statue from First4Figures depicts the orange suit as seen in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Each hand-painted statue stands at 50.8cm/20in tall atop a base modeled after the Metroid franchise insignia.

First4Figures is also offering an extremely limited “Exclusive” edition, with LED lighting integrated into the entire statue. As with all First4 collectibles, each hand-numbered statue includes a “certificate of authenticity” allowing the buyer to purchase the same statue-number of the next collectible in the series.

The Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Varia Suit statues are both expected to release in Q1 2017; though units are extremely limited, the standard edition can be pre-ordered for $384.99, with the LED-accented Exclusive version running for $429.99. An initial deductible payment of $30 is required, regardless of the chosen statue.
