The latest Agents of Mayhem trailer finds that carnage is best served from a party of three.
Agents of Mayhem is the latest project to come from developer Volition, responsible for the GTA competitor-turned-bonkers Saints Row franchise. An in-universe spin-off to the Saints Row saga, Agents of Mayhem sees players allying with Persephone Brimstone’s M.A.Y.H.E.M.; founded by Gat out of Hell‘s daughter of Satan herself, Ms. Brimstone’s “Multinational AgencY Hunting Evil Masterminds” consists of bombastic secret agents tasked with protecting the world from L.E.G.I.O.N.- the “League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations”.
Though strictly a single-player experience, Agents of Mayhem allows players to select a party of three Agents for each mission. A vast library of Agents and former 3rd Street Saints members are available to select, each with his or her own unique perks; the three party members each have Agent-specific weapons and techniques, however some possess passive skills that enhance the entire party, or grant mission-specific bonuses. Earlier this week, Volition showcased more Agents of Mayhem gameplay with their “Carnage a Trois” trailer. While the trailer itself may not present new material, viewers will get plenty of entertainment watching Daisy, Braddock and Yeti destroy the streets of a futuristic Seoul, South Korea.
Agents of Mayhem will release for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 8/15; those who pre-order through GameStop will also receive Johnny Gat as a [presumably timed] bonus DLC character.
