Sega’s blue hedgehog returns for a second appearance in Nintendo’s all-star brawl.
Sonic the Hedgehog will return as a playable character for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, courtesy of a brief trailer and screenshots from Nintendo and the Nintendo Direct stream this morning:
Sonic is one of three characters from 3rd-party franchises to appear in the Smash Bros. series, the others being [Classic] Mega Man and Solid Snake. The confirmed roster now includes Sonic, Toon Link, Peach, Luigi, Olimar + Pikmin, Villager, Nario, Donkey Kong, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, and Pit.
Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS is still set to release in 2014.
