‘Watch Dogs’, ‘The Crew’ Delayed To 2014

Ubisoft’s hacker-centric Watch Dogs, and the open-world racing title The Crew have been pushed back, and are now expected to release during the first half of 2014.

Watch Dogs, Ubisoft’s new killer-IP was originally set for a multi-platform release on Nov. 19, but will now be scheduled for a Spring 2014 release. A statement from Ubisoft revealed that the delay is necessary in order to release a polished title, without skimping-out on content:

“…We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality…as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

Ubisoft also announced that the next-gen open-world racing game The Crew will be included in their 2014 fiscal year, meaning the earliest release would be in April 2014; the decision was made with the intent of allowing developers to have more time to create a higher-quality title, and to “fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer players even more exceptional experiences.”
