While it isn’t a substantial world-ending delay, Yaiba’s release has been pushed back 2 weeks…which gives everyone plenty of time to catch up on the story, with a new digital comic series from Dark Horse.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is a collaborative spin-off from the Ninja Gaiden series, from developers Team Ninja, Spark Unlimited and Comcept. Led by Keiji Inafune, Ninja Gaiden Z is a stylized tale of revenge and zombie-slaying from the perspective of Yaiba Kamikaze, a ninja once slain by Ryu Hayabusa, brought back to life through technology. While the original release date was set for Mar. 4, publisher Tecmo Koei announced that Yaiba will be delayed two weeks, to the new date of Mar. 18.
A few days ago, Dark Horse Comics released a digital comic series tie-in to Ninja Gaiden Z, which fleshes out Yaiba’s personal back-story. While only the first issue is currently available, the comic is free to download through the Dark Horse website, however access requires a registered account.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on 3/18; the European version also faces a slight delay, and will release on 3/21.
