
Nintendo’s most iconic boxer will enter a different kind of ring later this year, as Little Mac will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.
Today’s Nintendo Direct came with several new updates regarding the Spring release schedule, as well as a few surprise announcements- one being a new character for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. A bizarre-yet-perfect addition to the Smash Bros. roster, Punch-Out!! protagonist Little Mac will be a playable character for both versions of the all-star brawler. Judging by today’s new character trailer, Little Mac appears to be a nimble character that possibly trades overall attack-power for speed; Little Mac is also equipped with an additional meter that builds power whenever he takes damage:
Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS will arrive later this year, and will feature cross-platform play between both versions. February 2014 also marks the 30th anniversary of the original Punch-Out!!.
