‘Killer Instinct’ Physical Release Announced, Includes “TJ Combo”

killer-instinct-season-2-TJCombo The 2013 digital Killer Instinct reboot is finally going physical with a disc-release coming later this year.

Fans have been praying for over a decade for a new Killer Instinct. Their cries were finally answered, as last year marked the return of the bombastic Fighter, courtesy of developer Double Helix. An Xbox One exclusive, Killer Instinct brought several of the iconic characters back with redesigned models and updated mechanics. However, several characters were left out of Season 1, including Maya, Cinder, Riptor and TJ Combo.

During EVO 2014, new developer Iron Galaxy announced that Killer Instinct Season 2 was currently in-development, with the first additional character being TJ Combo. The boxer is currently looking a little rough around the edges, though it should be noted that all footage stems from a pre-alpha build of the character. Along with Combo, the Amazonian warrior Maya has also been confirmed for Season 2. While her new mechanics have not been revealed through gameplay, an image was released showing her updated design:

While a release date for the Season 2 content has not been confirmed, Microsoft announced earlier today that Killer Instinct would have a physical release in September. For $19.99, Xbox One owners can purchase Killer Instinct: Combo Breaker Pack, which includes all eight Season 1 characters- Jago, Sabrewulf, Thunder, Sadira, Orchid, Glacius, Spinal and Fulgore. Along with the Season 1 content, the physical version also includes a digital voucher for TJ Combo, which will activate upon his Season 2 release.

Killer Instinct: Combo Breaker Pack will be available for Xbox One on 9/23.
