A tale of time travel, masks, and a moon that’s bent on destruction, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is finally coming to the Nintendo 3DS early next year.
Owners of Nintendo’s stereoscopic 3D handheld have been asking for remakes of their favorite Legend of Zelda games since the original 3DS’s release. Fans got a taste of 3D-Hyrule with the portable remake The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and the more recent entry, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Even with these two titles, the Zelda community has been asking for one more remake- a 3D version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
A “leaked” screenshot of what appeared to be a Target SKU for Majora’s Mask 3D appeared online back in July, though many believed it to be a fake, as the price was listed at $44.99; Nintendo 3DS games average between $29.99-39.99. However, in today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, the Japanese publisher and developer confirmed that Majora’s Mask would indeed come to the 3DS, complete with updated visuals and full 3D-support.
While the MSRP has not been released, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is expected to release in Spring 2015.
