Leo Whitefang, the “Dual Swords Lion King” has been confirmed as a DLC character for the upcoming Fighter, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-.
While the arcade version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is already available in Japanese arcades, the console versions will be arriving in early December. Confirmed earlier this year, the PS3/PS4 version will feature extra characters who weren’t playable in the arcade release; along with the base roster of 14 fighters, Sin Kiske of Guilty Gear 2 Overture will be added, along with the previously revealed DLC character Elphelt.
According to this week’s issue of Famitsu (via Gematsu), the second DLC character has been revealed to be Leo Whitefang. Featured very briefly in the TGS 2014 Story Trailer, Leo Whitefang is a friendly rival of Ky Kiske, and the ruler of the Illyria kingdom, now faced with the imminent threat of Ramlethal Valentine’s return. Whitefang’s voice will be provided by Tetsu Inada, known for his portrayal of Lu Bu from the Dynasty Warriors series.
The Famitsu issue also states that a PS4-exclusive smartphone companion app- the “Tournament Support App”- will allow for players to confirm tournament entries, view results, and receive match-starting notifications. Along with the implied tournament mode, Guilty Gear Xrd‘s online will support lobbies for up to 64 players.
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will release for the PS3 and PS4 on 12/16.
