Premium-level collectible manufacturer Sideshow Collectibles is about to take on the Arkham franchise, commemorating one of Batman’s most iconic villains with a new statue for the Joker.
Sideshow Collectibles and their partners are responsible for some of the most-detailed collectible statues on the collector scene. While their prices may be jarring to some, their premium-level masterpieces include the likes of StarCraft‘s Kerrigan, Metal Gear RAY (ThreeA Toys), and Titanfall‘s Atlas with Pilot (Threezero); hardcore collectors with expendable income can even go so far as to purchase a life-size T-800 Endoskeleton…for $6,000.
It isn’t scheduled to begin shipping until Summer 2016, however Sideshow Collectibles has already announced their own Batman: Arkham Asylum “Joker” Statue. Standing at just over 24″ tall, the collectible Joker statue features an actual fabric recreation of his iconic purple and orange pinstripe suit, along with his signature “Ace of Spades” revolver at the ready. Two interchangeable heads will be included; one features a scheming grin, while the other sports the Joker’s open-mouthed maniacal laugh. Along with Sideshow’s own in-house design team, thirteen other individuals are working on this statue, each with a focus on either molding, sculpting, painting or fabricating the costume for each individual piece.
The “Joker Premium Format Figure” from Sideshow Collectibles can be pre-ordered for $449.99, with an up-front deductible payment of $45. Alternatively, the buyer has the option of a monthly $57.86 payment.
The statue is expected to begin shipping between May-July 2016.
