Details are scarce, but the next character to debut in Guilty Gear Xrd will be Jack-O, a servant of the franchise villain.
Arc System Works recently announced Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, an update to Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Like its predecessor, REVELATOR will initially debut in Japanese arcades; console ports have not been confirmed, however SIGN‘s PS3 and PS4 ports were released just months after the arcade version went live. The revamped version will include rebalanced gameplay mechanics, the “Stylish Mode” which enables simple-input combos, and two announced additional characters. A series icon, Johnny will be playable in the final release of Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-; while is is not playable, Johnny makes a cameo in Xrd‘s cinematic Story Mode.
Earlier today, a Famitsu scan revealed the previously teased “silhouette” character to be “Jack-O”. While details regarding the character are slim at this time, Jack-O is one of three assistants to series antagonist “That Man”- the other two being Raven and I-No. She appears infrequently in the “Guilty Gear Xtra” manga, but only as an unnamed silhouette. According to Famitsu (via GameStalk), Jack-O can use the her and metal jack-o-lantern for long-range strikes; the character will also fight using a “comical” fighting style. An official release date has not been announced for Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, however local testing will begin in Japanese arcades this Summer.
