After only a few months of activity, Rise of Incarnates is closing its doors this December.
Despite their popularity in Japan, multiplayer team-based brawlers aren’t very common in the US. Bandai Namco attempted to bring the frantic action of the genre overseas with Rise of Incarnates, a free-to-play two-on-two brawler for PC. Developed by individuals who previously worked on the Tekken series, Rise of Incarnates featured a handful of characters who could turn into powerful creatures, or use their energy to enhance their natural abilities. These “Incarnates” were at war within a dystopian environment, battling over territory and resources.
After just four months of activity, Bandai Namco is shutting down the online services for Rise of Incarnates. Through an announcement on Steam, it was revealed that players will no longer be able to purchase “Incarnate Points”, the title’s internal currency based on microtransactions. The title is still available to play, however all services will shut down on 12/15.
Rise of Incarnates is still available as a free download through Steam. Some in-game items are still available to purchase for those who still have Incarnate Points, many of which are now discounted or free.
