The costume madness continues, as yet another DLC bundle series is coming to Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
It probably goes without saying, but Dead or Alive 5: Last Round may hold the record for most unique costumes per character in the entire Fighter genre. With well over 200 unlockable and DLC costumes to choose from, a peek into the digital attire library can be a very daunting- if not overwhelming- experience. The latest update to DOA5 also features cross-over costumes from such properties as Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Ikkitousen, Senran Kagura, Deception, and recently Samurai Warriors.
Earlier today, Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo revealed yet another extensive batch of costumes to be distributed over the next few months. The “Newcomer Set” will release very soon for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions of DOA5: Last Round, with 16 individual costumes for the characters listed below:
- Ayane
- Nyotengu
- Honoka
- Marie Rose
- Phase 4
- Naotora
The Newcomer Set can be purchased together for $18.99, or individually for $1.99 each. Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo will release a new costume set each month over the next three months, ending in July; 16 costumes will arrive in May, followed by 16 in June, and a whopping 30 in July accompanied by a new stage.
For the costume-collectors of DOA5: Last Round, a “New Costume Pass” will be available for purchase at $92.99; this pass contains all of the DLC to be released through July, the Newcomer Set and an exclusive costume for Ayane, pictured above.
Owners of the PS3 and 360 versions will be left in the dark, as no more DLC is planned for either release.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, 360 and PS3. To put things in perspective for those wanting to obtain every single costume, Last Round currently has just over $800 worth of costume DLC.
