Capcom’s finest NES Disney games are coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC this April.
Licensed video games have become a taboo product over the past few generations thanks to numerous sub-par titles, seemingly developed to cash in on a trending movie, TV show or book. While several exceptions do exist, such as the LEGO and Telltale adaptations of popular films, TV shows and graphic novels, the early 90’s were a goldmine of quality licensed games, many of which were developed under Capcom.
Earlier today, Capcom revealed The Disney Afternoon Collection, a compilation of six best-selling- and notoriously difficult– Disney games from the NES era. The title will feature upscaled 1080p versions of Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2 and TaleSpin. Each game includes extra “Boss Rush” and “Time Attack” challenge modes, and a “Rewind” feature allowing players to rewind and correct their gameplay mishaps. As seen in the Mega Man Legacy Collection, The Disney Afternoon Collection will include a Museum with an archive of concept art, music and more production assets for each game.
The Disney Afternoon Collection will release as a digital title for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 4/18 for $19.99.
