Hideo Kojima has previously teased a PC release of Platinum’s recent Metal Gear spin-off Revengeance, but it looks like it may be arriving much sooner than everyone expected.
Earlier this year, Kojima mentioned that a PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was currently in-development; this statement was later backed up with screenshots posted through his Twitter account with MG Rising actually running on a PC. According to the most recent episode of “Kojima Productions Alert”, Revengeance has not been canceled- despite a lack of updates- but is actually within the final stages of development; according to the podcast, the PC version is within “the final stages right now. You’ll be seeing it pop up on Steam any day now.”
While no release date was given within the Alert episode, or from Platinum Games, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will arrive on PC “sooner than you anticipate”. Revengeance is currently available for 360 and PS3, along with additional DLC which allows the player to play as Blade Wolf and antagonist Jetstream Sam. The Revengeance rendition of Raiden will also appear in the 360 and Xbox One versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes as a playable character in the “Jamais Vu” Microsoft-exclusive mission.
