The free-to-play customization-based shooter from Edge of Reality now has over 2 million registered players participating on the battlefield.
Loadout is a free-to-play (F2P) 3rd-person-shooter from developer Edge of Reality. Released on Steam earlier this year, the team-based multiplayer title has a strong focus on customization; players can not only customize each character that they choose to play as, but as the name suggests, players can create their own unique weapons for their “loadout” by purchasing various parts and upgrades. While Loadout may feature micro-transactions as a way to obtain more in-game currency, this isn’t a “pay-to-win” title, as currency is gained for every match played and objective completed. According to Edge of Reality, their most recent title had more than 2 million users download and register to play in the initial 14 days after its launch.
Along with Team Fortress 2 and DOTA 2, Loadout is now listed in the current Top 10 in Steam’s most popular F2P titles, as players have collectively logged over 9 million hours of gameplay.
