‘Hellblade’ Confirmed For PC, May Feature 4K And Modding Support

Ninja Theory’s Hellblade will only be a timed-exclusive for the PS4, as a PC version is currently in-development.

Hellblade was announced during Sony’s Gamescom 2014 conference as a PS4 exclusive from Ninja Theory. The third-person action title from the creators of DMC: Devil May Cry and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will only be a timed-exclusive for Sony’s new console, as a PC version has been confirmed to be in-development.

Ninja Theory is attempting to bring 4K resolution support to the PC version of Hellblade, along with support for player-made content and other mods, in order to provide a “richer” experience that will last through multiple PC hardware generations.¬†According to Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades, the PC version allows the studio to explore “better ways” of approaching game development. While consoles are improving with community-based services including open Betas and multiplayer testing, consoles are “years behind what things like Steam are doing”.

Hellblade is scheduled to release sometime later this year for PS4; it has not been confirmed whether or not the PC version will share the same launch window.
