The world’s greatest detective won’t be taking on Scarecrow’s army alone, as Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman and Azrael are bringing their skills to the streets of Gotham.
While the Arkham saga is primarily a single-character experience behind the eyes of the caped-crusader, both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City gave players a chance to briefly step outside of Batman’s shoes. A hallucination sequence gave players control over Joker in Rocksteady’s first chapter of the Arkham saga, while the following game allowed players to wreak a different, more limber kind of havoc as Catwoman.
Over the past few days, Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady released three “countdown” teaser trailers leading up to today’s new gameplay trailer; each teaser hinted at another hero to appear in the final chapter of the Arkham series. Not only were three new characters confirmed for Arkham Knight, but today’s “All Who Follow You” trailer confirms Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing and Azrael to all appear, with the first three being playable characters. According to Rocksteady, Batman: Arkham Knight will feature the new “Dual Play” mechanic, allowing players to swap between characters in the midst of combat:
