The popular rhythm-based dungeon-crawler is officially getting a Sony platform release, complete with additional remixed music tracks.
Debuting in Steam Early Access, Crypt of the NecroDancer is an award-winning rhythm-game/dungeon-crawler hybrid from developer Brace Yourself Games. Players must explore, loot and survive a gauntlet of dungeons and bosses, with one catch- the character can only move if the player presses each direction with the beat of the music; for an added challenge, each dungeon must be cleared before the music stops.
Announced during a panel held today at PAX Prime 2015, Brace Yourself Games will bring Crypt of the NecroDancer to the PS4 and PS Vita. The Sony release will also include extra music in the form of “chiptune” remixes from composer Jake “Virt” Kaufman. Kaufman has contributed his talent to a wide collection of titles, including the Shantae series, BloodRayne: Betrayal, DuckTales Remastered, Retro City Rampage, Darkstalkers: Resurrection, the Mighty Switch Force! franchise and Shovel Knight.
A release date was not given for the PS4 and PS Vita releases, however Crypt of the NecroDancer is currently available for purchase on PC/Mac/Linux via Steam.
