‘Street Fighter V’ “Laura” Trailer Revealed Early, PC Closed Beta Coming Soon

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Laura can now be seen in action, just in time for the PC beta to go live.

Early leaks from within Capcom gave Street Fighter fans a tentative look at the complete roster for 2016’s Street Fighter V. While the roster may still not be the final version, most of the previously revealed characters are listed within the leak. Apart from Rasheed and Necalli, fans were left scratching their heads on another new name on the list- “Laura”. Courtesy of an accidental leak on Famitsu’s website, Laura was prematurely revealed through a handful of screenshots. Earlier today, the official gameplay trailer went live on the EB Games New Zealand YouTube channel. The Brazilian fighter uses a blend of Mitsuda jiu-jitsu and electrical techniques; apart from her green attire, and use of electricity, Laura possesses a rolling-attack reminiscent of Blanka:

Though the PS4 beta test for those who pre-ordered Street Fighter V has already opened, PC gamers will finally get their hands on the closed beta later this month. Anyone who pre-orders a copy of Street Fighter V through Steam or various retailers should receive a code granting access to the closed-beta. The PC system requirements are as follows:

  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.60GHz
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 480, GTX 570, GTX 670, or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible soundcard or onboard chipset

  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

Street Fighter V will release for PS4 and PC in Spring 2016. The PC closed beta will go live on 10/24 with cross-play testing between PC and PS4 players. The PS4 beta will re-open on 10/22.
