[NSFW] More ‘DOAX3’ Mini-Games And Characters Shown In New Trailer, Screenshots

The latest batch of media for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 show the return of more classic mini-games, a look at the other characters and extra features of Soft Engine 2.0.

After a lengthy hiatus, the Dead or Alive Xtreme spin-off series is returning to consoles as a Sony-exclusive; the two previous titles were both released exclusively on Microsoft consoles- Xbox and Xbox 360. Each entry in the Xtreme series features a handful of female characters from the fighting game franchise, all stationed at a beach resort with plenty of head-to-head activities. The first title, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball only featured volleyball as the main activity, however the 360-exclusive sequel Xtreme 2 expanded the library of mini-games to feature slide and jet-ski racing, pool-hopping and more.

The third installment was announced earlier this year during the 2015 DOA Festival event, featuring a roster voted on by Japanese fans, with gameplay powered by the new Soft Engine 2.0. Despite having English subtitles, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will only release for Japanese and Asian audiences. It was previously speculated that the region-exclusivity was in response to a potentially negative response from western audiences and active feminists, however most statements have since been written-off by Team Ninja as just personal opinions, non-reflective of the development studio itself.

This past week, developer Team Ninja released a new series of screenshots and a new trailer for DOAX3. Along with new glimpses of Helena, Hitomi and Momiji, the flag-racing mini-game has a brief cameo in the trailer, along with Helena taking part in a new rock-climbing activity. As confirmed by Team Ninja, the trailer also demonstrates that Soft Engine 2.0 is capable of real-time breast deformation, occurring in such instances as when characters lay on their stomachs.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will release for PS4 (DOAX3 Fortune) and PS Vita (DOAX3 Venus) for Asian audiences on 2/25.
