A source of controller-smashing anger on the SNES, Eyedol returns as the final character for Killer Instinct: Season 3.
After several months of cross-over content and returning legacy characters, Killer Instinct‘s latest content season is coming to a close. Yesterday evening during EVO 2016 in Las Vegas, NV, KI fans got their first look at the final Killer Instinct: Season 3 character, Eyedol. A two-headed demon warlord banished from Earth, Eyedol returned as the final boss of the original 1994 Killer Instinct, and is regarded as one of the most difficult fighting game bosses of all time. The original lore states that Eyedol escaped after 2000 years in Limbo thanks to Ultratech’s meddling in arcane magic; the new story established by Killer Instinct: Season 2‘s Story Mode has Kan-Ra resurrecting the fallen demon as his slave, only to abandon him and seek revenge upon Gargos.
The previous incarnation of Eyedol was a two-headed cyclops with goat-legs and a massive spiked-mace; the re-imagined version retains most of his features, however he now sports a single head sliced vertically in-half due to his previous battle with Gargos.
Eyedol will be available for Killer Instinct: Season 3 Ultra Edition on 7/22, and Season 3 Combo Breaker Edition on 7/29.
Killer Instinct: Season 3 is available as a cross-buy title for Xbox One and PC exclusively through the Windows 10 Store.
