Explore the dystopian town of Wellington Wells with the Alpha build of We Happy Few, available now on Xbox One and PC.
From the creators of the noir puzzle-platformer Contrast, We Happy Few is the next adventure from developer Compulsion Games. First shown in March 2015, We Happy Few is set in the fictitious “retro-futuristic” town of Wellington Wells, England, where the community and ever-present TV personality Uncle Jack are full of glee…Or so one would think. Using the 1960’s as its backdrop, We Happy Few has players dealing with tense survival among a drug-addicted society; to peacefully live among the citizens of Wellington Wells, players must either conform to society, or take the happiness-inducing drug Joy. Those who choose to rebel- “Downers” as they’re called- are dealt with in violent fashion by the police and other fun-spirited townsfolk.
After a successful run on Kickstarter, We Happy Few is now available as an Early Access title on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and Xbox One Game Preview. As this is an Early Access Alpha release, the game still has a handful of bugs and incomplete areas, however the full version will feature a procedurally-generated world equipped with a multitude of crafting and survival opportunities and unique character interactions. We Happy Few will also feature an optional “Permadeath” mode “to satisfy all your masochistic needs”.
We Happy Few is currently available for Xbox One and PC for $29.99.
