Lara Croft’s most recent prequel outing comes to the PS4 with a special console-exclusive 20th Anniversary edition.
Originally an Xbox One exclusive, Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics. The sequel tells an action-heavy tale of Lara’s first “official” tomb expedition in Siberia, and her journey to find the mythical Lost City of Kitezh before the militaristic Trinity organization.
Following its releases for Xbox One, 360 and PC, Rise of the Tomb Raider is finally coming to the PS4 next week. As with a large assortment of titles from this generation, the game will receive a “definitive edition” of sorts- the “20 Year Celebration” edition. An exclusive version for PS4 Tomb Raider fans, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration includes the “Blood Ties”, “Lara’s Nightmare” and “Baba Yaga” DLC expansions, a Co-Op “Endurance” mode, new single-player “Extreme Survivor” ultra-hard difficulty setting, and support for PlayStation VR. Apart from all previously released DLC content, 20 Year Celebration includes five classic Lara Croft skins modeled after her appearances from the original trilogy, Tomb Raider: Underworld and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness.
