Collector's Editions

‘Resident Evil 7’ $180 Console-Exclusive Collector’s Edition Revealed

Resident Evil‘s first-person outing gets a Collector’s Edition with its very own mansion- and what a mansion it is.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard– or “Resident EVII”, or “Biohazard 7: Biohazard” for the truly facetious- thrusts Capcom’s iconic horror saga into new territory, this time switching from the over-the-shoulder 3rd-person perspective to first-person. Following the mixed reception of Resident Evil 6, Capcom states that Resident Evil 7 will return to the franchise’s core survival-horror roots with a heavy emphasis on exploration rather than action. The new first-person take on the franchise comes as an extra bonus for Sony gamers, as the title will include full support for PlayStation VR.

Earlier this week, Capcom revealed the Resident Evil 7: Biohazard “Collector’s Edition”; sadly, this version is exclusive to the console releases on Xbox One and PS4. This eye-catching edition includes a 20.3cm/8in tall replica of the plantation mansion within the game; the ornate and heavily detailed piece features LED lighting and doubles as a music box with hidden speakers. Other goodies found within the Collector’s Edition include a USB modeled after a severed finger, lithograph, a VHS box, exclusive Steelbook case, and a “creepy note”.
