DC’s femme fatales shine in the Valentine’s Day trailer for Injustice 2.

Mortal Kombat creator Netherrealm Studios and DC Comics are joining forces once again for Injustice 2, coming to Xbox One and PS4 this Summer. A continuation of the dystopian superhero universe depicted within 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Us and the companion comic series, the sequel still sees the two unlikely factions of heroes and villains at war, with Superman and Batman at the lead. Injustice 2 adds a new “Gear” system, allowing players to customize the appearance, attack properties and stats of each individual character; new Gear items are unlocked through victorious matches, though microtransactions were not ruled out as an alternative option.

Developer Netherrealm Studios released a new gameplay video today, showcasing four of the new female fighters entering the fray. Though Black Canary was confirmed earlier this month, Cheetah,  Catwoman and Poison Ivy all make their gameplay debut in the Valentine’s Day “Here Come The Girls” trailer below.

Injustice 2 will release for the Xbox One and PS4 on 5/16.
