‘The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ Season Pass Announced

Breath of the Wild will receive two DLC packs this year, containing a new difficulty mode, additional items, story content and more.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may already hold the title of the largest game in the franchise, however players have the option of expanding the new Hyrule even further with future DLC content. In an update video released this morning by Nintendo, Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that two DLC packs will release between the release window and the 2017 holiday season. Scheduled to arrive sometime this Summer, the first content package includes a “Hard Mode” difficulty, a not-yet-revealed new map feature, and an additional Cave of Trials challenge dungeon.

The second DLC pack focuses more on actual gameplay content, as a new “original story”, dungeon and more challenge rooms are featured in the Holiday 2017 bundle. Both DLC packs can be purchased together for $19.99 as part of the Breath of the Wild “Expansion Pass”; those who purchase the Expansion Pass will also receive 3 additional Treasure Chests holding items and exclusive clothing, located somewhere within the Great Plateau region.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U on 3/3. Though the highly-anticipated title ushers in the era of the Switch, Breath of the Wild will be Nintendo’s last first-party game for the Wii U.
