‘Star Wars Battlefront II’ Includes Single-Player Story, Spans Eight Films

Fight for the Galactic Empire across all eight Star Wars films with Star Wars Battlefront II, coming this November.

Though some were exposed to the leak a few days ago, EA officially revealed the first trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II this afternoon. Under developers DICE, Criterion and Motive, the sequel looks to expand the rebooted multiplayer franchise further than any of its predecessors, with characters and locales from “Star Wars Episode I-VII” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. A primary feature that was missed by several fans, Battlefront II will include a dedicated single-player Story Mode. As the trailer below suggests, players will assume the role of Iden, an elite Stormtrooper of the now-defunct Galactic Empire; story details are scarce, but it’s suggested that the campaign will take players from the fall of the Empire with the destruction of the Death Star (“Return of the Jedi”), to the formation of the First Order (“The Force Awakens”).

Multiplayer has been expanded to support up to 40 players in all-out war across iconic locations from the “Prequel”, “Original”, and “New” sagas, though dogfight-focused battles will be limited to just 24 players. A co-op mode will also be present, allowing players to earn more character-customization options; split-screen will be supported for both the Xbox One and PS4 releases.

Star Wars Battlefront II will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 11/17.
