‘Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni’ Coming To PC This Year

The Senran Kagura sister series leaves Sony-exclusive status when it hits Steam later this year.

From the creative mind behind the widely-popular Senran Kagura franchise, Valkyrie Drive is Kenichiro Takaki’s sophomore cross-media project. Though not as popular as its predecessor, Valkyrie Drive exists as a short-form anime series (Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid), social mobile game (Valkyrie Drive: Siren) and a fast-paced PS Vita-exclusive action game (Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni). The series involved an all-female cast of characters inflicted with various forms of a potent virus; depending on the strain, those infected with the virus are classified as either “Extars” who transform into weapons upon arousal (seriously), or “Liberators” who wield the transformed individuals in battle.

Earlier today, Marvelous Entertainment announced the once-exclusive PS Vita release will now release for PC via Steam. The upcoming PC version will feature Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud support and Trading Cards; apart from the obvious adjustments to the control scheme, the PC release also includes online multiplayer and remastered with 1080p visuals at 60fps.

A release date has not been announced as of this time. Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is currently available for the PS Vita, and is compatible with the PS TV.
