Demitry Glukovsky’s award-winning novels are getting a third video game adaptation for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
One of the many surprise reveals of Microsoft’s E3 2017 presentation, the Metro saga will return for a third installment, Metro Exodus. Based on the Metro novels from Russian author Demitry Glukovsky, specifically Metro 2035, the series follows protagonist Artyom and the harsh reality of migrating into the Russian underground after nuclear war leaves the surface unfit for habitation, apart from a new breed of deadly mutant creatures. As seen in the debut gameplay trailer below, Metro Exodus will feature new weapons and the possibility a broader surface-level world to explore.
Metro Exodus will release sometime in 2018 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, with additional visual optimizations for the Xbox One X.
