The best mini-games of the Mario Party anthology are getting remastered for a 3DS-exclusive compilation.
When Nintendo fans aren’t forging bonds through local co-op games, their relationships are generally torn to shreds the moment a certain franchise makes its way into the console- Mario Party. Making its worldwide debut in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, Mario Party was one of the most successful multiplayer “party” games of the era, combining board games with highly-competitive mini-games, and a dash of randomness to keep players on the edge of their seats until the final results screen.
Spanning 15 titles across 19 years, Nintendo is finally giving fans a compilation of the best mini-games from across the entire Mario Party franchise. As the title would suggest, Mario Party: The Top 100 contains a whopping 100 mini-games hand-picked by Nintendo and retooled for the Nintendo 3DS. Though the collection reaches all the way from the Nintendo 64 to the Wii U era, many of the older entries in The Top 100 have been given an HD overhaul to better compliment the newer mini-games. Apart from the obvious appeal of having the largest collection of Mario Party mini-games in one collection, Mario Party: The Top 100 will support local wireless multiplayer and Download Play, with the latter meaning only one copy is required between four 3DS/2DS consoles.
Mario Party: The Top 100 will release exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of handhelds on 11/10.
