Senran Kagura‘s latest Summer fiesta comes to North America just in time…for Fall.
Kenichiro Takaki’s popular cross-media Senran Kagura franchise made its Japanese PS4 debut earlier this year with Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. Despite the saga’s lust towards frantic hack-and-slash action, Japan’s PS4 Senran Kagura title drags the series into yet another new genre- competitive team-based shooting.
What could easily be described as a lewd answer to Nintendo’s Splatoon, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash sees the girls of the universe’s Nintendo, Sony and mobile games all going head-to-head in a water sports tournament, armed with various classes of water guns; apart from the numerous strategic options between the 30 characters and level-based water guns, players may collect and equip “Cards” before each match for an extra boost in offensive or defensive power, summon temporary “pets” in battle, or provide teammates with additional passive abilities. Most of the action is set within the realm of the single-player P-1 Grand Prix tournament, however those looking for an online challenge may do so with Deathmatch, Queen of the Hill and Co-Op Survival modes.
To celebrate today’s North American launch of Peach Beach Splash, publisher Marvelous released one more gameplay trailer primarily featuring the Card mechanic and online multiplayer modes.
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is now available across North America, Japan and Europe for the PS4. Though it has yet to be confirmed, Senran Kagura creator and Producer Kenichiro Takaki has expressed previous interest in bringing the latest installment to Steam in the future.

I have been playing this for a few days now (PBS is a rare example of the EU getting a game before the US.) Senran Kagura fans will enjoy this title. It’s a lot of fun.
