Armature’s handheld tie-tin to Batman: Arkham Origins will receive an enhanced “Deluxe Edition” for consoles and PC this April.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is a 2.5D action/stealth title released for handhelds alongside WB Montreal’s sandbox Arkham Origins for consoles and PC. Blackgate follows shortly after the events of its console-counterpart, where the inmates of Blackgate Prison have seized control over the compound; this 3DS and Vita title features hand-drawn, almost “motion comic” cutscenes and dialogue, and expands on Batman’s initial relationship with Gordon and Catwoman.
While it was previously teased via an online listing within the Xbox Games Store, Armature Studio released an official trailer marking the digital release of Blackgate for consoles and PC: Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition features a high-definition visual upgrade, a new map system, new character skins for Batman, and 5.1 surround sound, along with an exclusive “Zero Year Batsuit” skin for those who register a Warner Bros. ID account.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition will be available on 4/1 (4/2 for UK) for $19.99 as a digital download, and will be available for 360, PS3, Wii U and PC; the standard edition is currently available for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.
