Just one of the many titles to be released during “the year of Persona“, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will release in North America this November.
The Persona saga is one of Atlus’s most popular franchises. While the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off originally began as a JRPG series, Persona made the jump into the Fighting genre with Persona 4 Arena, and the upcoming Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Developed by Arc System Works, the fighting games serve as a direct sequel to Persona 4, which is currently the last JRPG in the series to be released on console.
Last November, Atlus surprised fans with the announcement of four new titles, and a series of feature-length anime films for Persona 3. Along with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the music-based Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and the long-awaited Persona 5 are expected to release later this year. The first Persona title for the Nintendo 3DS, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth was revealed to be a “dungeon-crawler” featuring characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4. While the original release was scheduled for Q3 2014 for North American audiences, Atlus recently gave the handheld title an official release date of Nov. 25.
The North American version will release with an optional “Premium Edition”, including Tarot Cards from Persona 4, the Persona Q soundtrack, art book and an extra hardcover case.
