The 2D sci-fi platformer Axiom Verge finally has a release date, scheduled for the final week of March.
Axiom Verge is a brand new project from developer Tom Happ. The title is often compared to the likes of classic sci-fi and exploration-based platformers, such as the traditional Metroid and Castlevania games, or the NES and 2014 iterations of Strider. Much like its spiritual predecessors, Axiom Verge features several unlockable abilities, hidden areas and puzzles.
A new posting on the PlayStation Blog reveals three new weapons for Happ’s title; the “Nova” can be used as a normal projectile, or shot into the air as a 360° spreadshot; a drill is capable of breaking apart certain materials; the player also has an “address disruptor” that can disable enemies and affect parts of the environment.
While the release date is issued through Happ’s posting on the PlayStation Blog, Axiom Verge will release for the PS4, PS Vita and PC on 3/31.
