‘Mortal Kombat X’ Kombat Pack Characters Revealed, “Predator” Confirmed

The ultimate killing machine, an iconic horror villain, and two classic Mortal Kombat characters will be included in the MKX “Kombat Pack” DLC.

Mortal Kombat X will release in less than a month, and yet new and returning characters are still being revealed. Much like Mortal Kombat [9], MKX will have a DLC pack available at launch- the Kombat Pack- which contains additional DLC characters at a discounted bundle price.

Netherrealm Studios made a surprise announcement on March 13- a Friday- that the mask-wearing slasher Jason Voorhees of the “Friday the 13th” films would be a playable character included in the Kombat Pack. Returning “Kombatants” Tanya and Tremor will also be included, along with the previously teased debut of the Predator. Earlier this year, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon publicly tossed around the idea of having Predator as a playable character through various Tweets on Twitter. An Xbox One achievement listing preemptively confirmed his existence as a DLC character.

Along with the four additional characters, four new character-skin packs are featured within the Kombat Pack DLC bundle. “The Predator/Prey Pack” includes the Predator and movie-themed skins for Johnny Cage, Scorpion and Jax; “Ultimate Horror Pack” contains Jason Voorhees and horror-based skins “Vampiress Mileena”, “Pharaoh Ermac” and “Kraken Reptile”; Tanya and Tremor each respectively come with “Klassic Pack No. 1” and “No. 2”, collectively featuring classic Mortal Kombat-themed skins for Kano, Sonya, Liu Kang, Quan Chi, Jax and Kung Lao.

As an alternative option to the Kombat Pack, each of the previously mentioned DLC items and packs can be purchased separately upon release.

In their recent Twitch.tv streams, Netherrealm Studios revealed the entire Cage family (i.e. the divorced Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, and their daughter Cassie Cage), Kenshi, and gameplay for Mileena.

Mortal Kombat X will be available for the Xbox One, PS4, PC and mobile platforms on 4/14; the 360 and PS3 versions have been delayed to an unspecified summer release. Those who pre-order a copy, regardless of platform or tier, will receive Goro as an additional DLC character.
